Coach Amy says: "Kaitlyn Hansen's progress at Ironman Maryland was one of my happiest days as a triathlon coach. Kaitlyn's Ironman training initially started for Ironman Mont Tremblant and was going great when the race got canceled and she had to shift her sails to Maryland. Anyone who has ever trained for an Ironman can understand that adding several more weeks to the program can seem pretty daunting, but Kaitlyn kept her nose to the grindstone. With pizza onboard for her race day nutrition Kaitlyn crushed her goal and finished strong at Ironman Maryland! So proud of you, Kaitlyn Hansen!"

A:   Kaitlyn Hansen and I currently live in Malta NY

A:   I just turned 25

A:   I am a physical therapist

A:   13 and a half years. I started at 11 years old doing a sprint at Musselman in Geneva NY

A:   This was my first year with T3 and coach Amy

A:   Hmm, even though I didn’t get the chance to race it (thanks COVID) I would have to say Ironman Mont Tremblant. It’s a race I have been lucky enough to watch my dad race at several times and the atmosphere is just unlike any other. The whole town is just great and if I ever do another Ironman it will be that one for sure.

A:   My bike. I fell in love with a black Trek Speed Concept when I started triathlons and I am still in love with it.

A:   I think the biggest accomplishment was completing Ironman it has been a huge goal of mine for a long time and all the years of training built up to it.

A:   Finish Ironman (2021)

A:   Well for the past 13 years I would have said to become an Ironman but now that I have accomplished that I am working on creating a new goal and I think that will be to help others cross the finish line.

A:   Hard cider, golden oreos, and milk lol

A:   Country

A:   It can definitely be hard to juggle everything but sticking with it can lead to some of the most rewarding moments.

A:   Never neglect strength training days

A:   Hmmm, whichever one is done, just kidding. I really enjoy speed workouts like 200m or 400m repeats

A:   I just want to thank my parents for supporting me all these years and helping me be able to reach my goals as I know it is not cheap and I can be difficult. Also, a big thanks to my boyfriend, Nolan, for being patient with me while I trained this summer and dealing with all the emotions. Ironman is a long day for those spectating too and I am so thankful for everyone who supported me along the way.
