T3 is really excited about the accomplishments of the August Athlete of the Month, John Evansky.

John joined T3 this year as both an athlete & coach. Not surprisingly, he is excelling at both. As an athlete, John shows remarkable discipline and openness to new training practices and creativity. He has enjoyed the challenges of swimming on a VASA trainer, long rides on the trainer (mostly due to inclement weather, and plenty of hill repeats when running. All this variety allowed for an impressive day at Ironman Lake Placid 2018 - which threw some of it's own challenges. He continues to train with the same passion as he prepares for the Ironman Maine 70.3.

As a coach, he receives constant praise from his athletes... "He's the best", "I wouldn't be where I am without John!", "He had me so prepared for that race!". John brings outstanding experience not only triathlon, but also strength & conditioning. He writes detailed plans and then communicates regularly with his athletes to build relationships - which is most important to T3!

A:  This is my first year under Coach Crossman

A:  Ironman Lake Placid, the Adirondacks are just a perfect place for an Ironman distance triathlon. The town is electric that entire week and mostly the friends and family that come out to support all the athletes. Crossing that finish line 3 times now the feeling is indescribable.

A:  My Pioneer dual arm power meter. It provides my numbers loving, data craving mind with all kinds of fun facts about my rides.

A:  A few that top the list would be being on the podium at Breck Epic (6-day stage race in Breckenridge Colorado), and my 5 Ironman finishes.

A:   Goal was to PR at Ironman Lake Placid this year. That did not happen, but I only missed it by 6 minutes and considering the challenges on the bike course I am more then happy with the outcome.

A:  Stay healthy, motivated and injury free

A:  Pizza, eggs, and seltzer water

A:  Anything but country, I listen to a wide range of music just depends on the workout

A:  Hire a knowledgeable coach with a track history of success. I am not saying that because I’m a coach, I’m saying it because I’m a coach with a coach and I attribute much of my success to his coaching.

A:  If you follow me on Strava you will know it’s my Rt. 4 up Bacon Hill and down West River Road loop. But really its anything that includes a bike ride.

A:  Don’t take your triathlon self so seriously that it stops being enjoyable. Keep in mind we all do this for fun and we are not building our bank accounts because of it.
